Lenzing Instruments Presents Testing Systems
Testing systems for quality and process control of nonwovens featured at booth 2304
At INDEX 2026 (booth 2304), Lenzing Instruments, a member of the Textechno Group, is presenting advanced testing systems for quality and process control of nonwovens. The company offers customer-tailored solutions ranging from laboratory instruments to automated high-throughput systems and online process monitoring technologies – all designed to ensure reliable, comparable and traceable results.
This year’s exhibition focus is on testing solutions for hygienic nonwovens and absorbent hygiene products. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a coordinated portfolio of systems and discuss the benefits of the broader Lenzing Instruments product range for additional fields such as staple fiber, filament yarn and geotextiles.
Comprehensive testing solutions for hygiene nonwovens
Reliable characterization of liquid management properties of nonwoven coverstock is a key requirement in the quality control of hygienic nonwovens. To address this need, Lenzing Instruments presents a coordinated set of testing solutions covering the key parameters strike-through, rewet and run-off behaviour.
LISTER AC is a proven system for determining the liquid strike-through behavior of nonwovens. Designed in accordance with INDA/EDANA test methods WSP 70.3 and WSP 70.7, it allows for precise and repeatable measurements, providing robust and comparable data for both quality assurance and product development. Demands for higher automation of the liquid strike-through test is fulfilled by the exhibited LISTER AUTO, where up to five single specimen of nonwoven coverstock are tested automatically, within one and the same test. The automation also allows for the repeated test to be performed.
Complementing this analysis, WETBACK assesses the rewet performance of nonwoven coverstock in line with INDA/EDANA standards WSP 80.10 and WSP 70.8. The system ensures a well-controlled testing sequence, reduces operator dependency and produces highly consistent results.
Completing the portfolio, RUNOFF PRO allows for the assessment of run-off behaviour based on INDA/EDANA method WSP 80.9. Combining automated test execution with high-resolution measurement technology, it supports efficient analysis and provides reliable insight into liquid handling performance. An integrated load cell directly determines the mass of the run-off liquid, eliminating the need for separate weighing.
Together, these systems enable manufacturers, quality-control laboratories and R&D departments to examine key performance parameters such as fluid acquisition, liquid retention, dryness and barrier properties within a coordinated testing framework.
A special highlight at INDEX 2026 is the presentation of LISTER CARE, Lenzing Instruments’ latest innovation for testing absorbent hygiene products such as baby diapers, adult incontinence products and underpads.
LISTER CARE has been developed for automated determination of the Rate of Acquisition (ROA) based on established EDANA WSP 70.9 and NAFC testing methodologies. The system supplies test liquid under defined conditions and records acquisition time with high accuracy, converting a traditionally operator-dependent procedure into a controlled and reproducible laboratory process.
By integrating seamlessly with LISTER AC/LISTER AUTO, WETBACK and RUNOFF PRO, LISTER CARE becomes part of a complete testing system for absorbent hygiene products. This enables users to evaluate acquisition behavior, retention performance, dryness and barrier characteristics within a consistent, end-to-end testing approach.
