Birla Cellulose to Present Innovations in its Purocelis Range
INDEX booth will feature fiber technology rooted in sustainability

Birla Cellulose is a leading sustainability focused man-made cellulosic fibre producer. The company's nature-based fibres come from natural renewable sources from responsibly managed forestry and it serves as a trusted supplier to a large number of spunlacers and other non-woven producers located throughout the world.
Purocelis is Birla Cellulose’s brand that covers a variety of nonwovens applications. It is built on three tenets – Sustainability, Innovation and Partnership. Birla Purocel is bringing a bunch of game changing innovations to INDEX this year, to make Plastic Free Nonwovens a reality and honor the company's theme -“Sustainable Innovations for plastic free nonwovens”
Innovations include:
Short Cut Fibres – Uniquely designed short cut fibres are the perfect balance of performance, flushability and sustainability. They are suitable for flushable wipes, filters & battery separators.
Hydrophobic Viscose Fibres – They provide the desired balance of absorption and rewet properties in sanitary pads and diapers. Helping the industry replace plastic based materials and move towards sustainable products.
Fine Fibres– They are used to make ultra-luxurious nonwovens and products with improved softness, bulk, opacity and a pleasant hand feel.
Spunshades Fibres– These fibres are dyed inherently during spinning stage reducing the environmental footprint, resulting in brilliant colors that does not fade while in use, maintaining the aesthetics of the wipe product.
All above are established as commercialized innovations.
Purocelis also bringing many sustainability enhanced innovations, which are at different stages of development or implementation. We are continuously approaching value chain and brand partnerships globally, to invest in this future product journey.
