Investment news topped Nonwovens Industry’s list of the most-viewed news stories in 2025.
In May, hygiene and health company Essity announced the inauguration of a new automated distribution center in Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia. Equivalent to an 18-story building, it is Latin America’s tallest automated self-supporting warehouse. The facility improves operational efficiency and sustainability while handling 45% of Essity’s sales in Colombia and accelerating the dispatch processes by 33%.
Meanwhile, Kimberly-Clark made several investments in the last year. In March, the consumer giant broke ground on phase three of its expansion project in Nanjing, China. The latest stage of this investment, in the Jiangning Development Zone, should add 27,000 square feet of manufacturing space dedicated to the production of baby diapers and feminine hygiene products. Additionally, in May, the company announced an investment of $2 billion over the next five years in its North America business, marking the company’s largest domestic expansion in more than 30 years. The broad-based investment program centers on two projects: a new advanced manufacturing facility in Warren, OH, and an expansion of its Beech Island, SC, site with a state-of-the-art automated distribution center. It also includes additional capital expenditure linked to innovation and automation upgrades across its North America supply chain network. Here are the top 10 most-viewed news items on Nonwovens-Industry.com in 2025.
