Saudi German Nonwovens (SGN) has successfully completed of the SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar Audit, reaffirming our commitment to ethical trade, social responsibility and environmental integrity.
The SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is one of the most widely recognized social auditing methodologies worldwide. Its purpose is to evaluate how responsibly companies operate across four key areas — Labor Standards, Health & Safety, Environment, and Business Ethics. By achieving a strong performance across all four pillars, SGN demonstrates that our business practices meet international benchmarks for fairness, transparency, and sustainability.
Completing the SMETA 4-Pillar audit is not only a certification milestone — it is a reflection of SGN’s belief that sustainability begins with accountability. The audit provides an independent, globally recognized verification that our operations respect workers’ rights, uphold high safety standards, minimize environmental impact, and ensure ethical conduct throughout our supply chain.
This accomplishment directly supports our contribution to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, reinforcing national goals for sustainable industrial growth and global competitiveness.
SMETA compliance marks an important starting point in SGN’s long term sustainability roadmap. The insights gained from the audit guide our future initiatives, from improving resource efficiency to enhancing worker engagement and governance systems. It also strengthens the trust that customers and partners place in SGN as a transparent, responsible manufacturer.
As the first and largest spunbond manufacturer in the Middle East, SGN continues to set industry standards through technology, innovation, and ethics. Our Reicofil 5 line (commissioned May 2025) represents not just a step forward in performance, but also in environmental efficiency — enabling us to deliver advanced nonwoven solutions that serve both people and the planet.
Clearing the SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar audit is a meaningful validation of how we operate today — and a commitment to do even better tomorrow. SGN will continue building on this achievement through ongoing sustainability programs, responsible sourcing, and open collaboration with our partners worldwide.
