IMA Teknoweb, part of IMA Group and a leading provider of advanced solutions for the nonwovens industry, has been shortlisted for the prestigious INDEX 26 Awards, organized by EDANA, the global association serving the nonwovens sector.
The company has been selected as a finalist in the category “Machinery of special relevance to the nonwovens industry” with its OCEAN converting technology, an innovative solution designed for the production of high-performance absorbent underpads with reduced environmental impact.
The INDEX Awards celebrate excellence in innovation, sustainability and technical advancement across the several categories representing the entire nonwovens value chain.
OCEAN stood out for its ability to combine product performance with resource efficiency through a breakthrough drumless core formation process. This technology enables a more uniform distribution of fluff and superabsorbent polymers (SAP), while supporting multilayer product configurations, including a patent-pending 4-layer design with integrated leakage barriers.
Thanks to this approach, manufacturers can produce thinner and lighter underpads while reducing raw material consumption, by up to 30%, and lowering energy usage, without compromising output or product quality.
This recognition highlights IMA Teknoweb’s ongoing commitment to innovation, addressing key industry challenges such as sustainability, material efficiency and product performance, while supporting manufacturers in achieving more efficient and responsible production processes.
The winners of the INDEX 26 Awards will be announced during the INDEX™26 exhibition, taking place in Geneva from May 19-22, 2026.
