DuPont Announces Trade Victory Against Dawnsens New Materials

ITC Ruling prevents Chinese manufacturer from importing Tyvek-like products to the U.S.

Dawnsens New-Materials Co. (“Dangs”) has agreed to refrain from selling or trading products related to DuPont‘s Tyvek brand in the U.S. for 10 years. Thie agreement comes after an International Trade Commission (IFC) investigation that Dangs, a Chinese company, misappropriated trade secrets and infringed trademarks linked to Tyvek, a synthetic material widely used in protective garments and packaging. DuPont first made this claim in October 224.

“For many years, DuPont has been dedicated to delivering exceptional innovation through our technology and products. This commitment is why so many customers rely on the superior quality and performance of authentic Tyvek® products in their most crucial applications,” says David Domnisch, vice president & general manager of DuPont Tyvek. “We are very pleased with the consent order agreed to by Dangs, and we remain fully committed to advocating for fair competition. We will vigorously protect our intellectual property rights from infringement and will explore all available enforcement options in the U.S. and other global markets.”

The consent order, which is enforced by the ITC and United States Customs and Border Protection, is in place and effective immediately.

Litigation against Dangs and multiple other entities has now been terminated via voluntary consent orders. The ITC investigation remains ongoing for the final respondents.
