Large slitter adds capacity and expertise in converting applications

American Custom Converting (ACC) has added a large slitter machine from Jeremiah Machine Co., offering customers small roll rewinding as well as a variety of converting applications. Besides significant capacity expansion, the machine features a large range of roll width sizes, perforations and finished diameters. Widths include an offering from 6” to 84” and ODiameters from 6” to 18”.
Based in Green Bay, WI, ACC is unique in its converting proficiency across slitting, winding, and substrate competence. Beyond its investments is the company’s ability to configure, alter and customize its assets for specific customer needs. “We have responded to specific requirements for custom converting,” says Peter Bekx, co-owner. “Adaptability has been a mainstay of our reputation in slitting, winding, laminating, and perforating across markets.” Substrates from papers to nonwovens and combined substrates are mainstays at ACC. Combinations include papers-to-papers, kraft-to-film and nonwovens-to- film.
American Custom Converting’s range of processing and converting also involves its growth in laminations. The company’s adhesive technology in water-based and hotmelt extrusions round out the ACC expertise. “Our adhesive technology options and width variations allow us to provide complete and fast service,” says says John Michaud, co-owner. “Two machines are dedicated to water-based laminations.” Between ACCs water-based and hot melt strengths, options include 100-plus-inch unwind widths.
Plying substrates is another core essential contracted to brand and other manufacturers across a spectrum. Customers are in construction materials, graphic vinyls, housewrap, roofing underlayment, landscaping fabrics, paint masking, packaging, folded specialties, food service, medical, and other markets.
