An absorbent article comprising a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, and an absorbent core comprising an absorbent material between a top core wrap sheet and a back core wrap sheet, said absorbent core being positioned in between said topsheet and said backsheet, wherein the absorbent core is provided with at least one attachment zone between the top core wrap sheet and the back core wrap sheet, wherein a first binder is arranged on one of the top core wrap sheet and the back core wrap sheet in a first area between the top core wrap sheet and the back core wrap sheet at a specified distance from the at least one attachment zone, wherein the first area comprises a plurality of substantially parallel, longitudinal first stripes; and a second binder is arranged on the other of the top core wrap sheet and the back core wrap sheet in a second area between the top core wrap sheet and the back core wrap sheet, wherein the first area is substantially complementary to the second area.
