Takween to Assume Full Ownership of SAAF Nonwovens

Company to repurchases 70% stake in Saudi nonwovens producer, four years after selling it

Takween Advanced Industries has agreed to repurchase a 70% stake in SAAF, a Saudi Arabian producer of spunmelt nonwovens for hygiene and medical applications, from Jofo Nonwoven Company Ltd., a Chinese nonwovens manufactuer. Upon completion of the deal, Takween will be the sole owner of SAAF.

Jofo acquired the 70% stake in SAAF from Takween in 2021, marking the company’s first major investment outside of Asia. At the time, the company said ownership of SAAF would not only enable it to expand its manufacturing footprint but would also allow it to gain entry into the medical market.

Meanwhile, Takween said the is sale in line with its strategy of focusing and expanding in the plastics sector.
