Founded in 2018, Swara Baby Products, based in Madhya Pradesh, India, has expanded since it established its first pant-style baby diaper machine. Over the last seven years, the company has become one of the major contract manufacturers of disposable hygiene products in India, with over 15 machines that produce baby diapers, adult diapers and feminine hygiene products.

Alok Birla, Swara Baby’s founder, brings more than a decade of experience in the disposable hygiene industry. He began his career in feminine hygiene products and has served as an OEM for Kimberly-Clark in Southeast Asia. He later ventured into the baby diaper sector, manufacturing Huggies tape-style diapers. When the global market shifted toward pants-style diapers after 2010, Birla recognized the opportunity and established one of India’s first pant-style diaper manufacturing units. Many brands have partnered with Swara Baby products, leading to long-term partnerships, he says.

As an OEM partner for several brands in India and across the globe, the company’s leadership strategically chose to expand within the same city due to its central location and proximity to major ports for seamless logistics and connectivity. Swara Baby is also the first hygiene company in India to be BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certified.

Swara Baby’s product portfolio includes pant-style and tape-style baby diapers, pant-style and tape-style adult diapers, adult incontinence liners, sanitary pads and panty liners. “Innovation and R&D are constant at Swara Baby Products,” Birla says. “We have launched eco-conscious and tree-free diaper technology in India. This diaper technology reduced wood pulp to a mere 7%.”

Today, the company supplies to players across several states in India, the Middle East, Africa and the U.S. “We are now in the global market, so to meet customer requirements, we need to increase our production capacity,” says Birla, adding that they have always tried to follow a multinational corporation work structure and work culture. “Quality is a part of our DNA—apart from external audits, we have strict internal quality controls. We have an S4/HANA system, and stress immensely on a transparent relationship. We believe that we don’t just make contracts with clients, but we are here to create a relationship and grow together.”
