Mercantile Development, Inc. (MDI), a specialty converter of industrial wipers, announced that its Quality Management System is ISO 9001:2015 certified for the design, manufacture, and sale of nonwoven wiping products. This latest standard is based on quality management principles including strong customer focus, commitment of top management, the process approach, and continuous improvement. “Our Pro-Series wiping products are an integral part of our customers’ processes and are used in a wide variety of critical cleaning environments, so certifying our QMS was a logical next step,” says Lucia Furman, president of MDI. “Our culture has always been one of striving for excellence so there was a solid foundation from which to build. We are proud to be one of the first companies involved in nonwovens to be certified to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.” ANAB-accredited American Systems Registrar awarded the certification providing evidence of MDI’s strict adherence to a structured and systematic approach to operations with company-wide controls. “Achieving certification was a milestone for our organization and all of our dedicated employees were actively engaged in the initiative,” says Furman. “We are pleased to demonstrate to our business partners through ISO certification that we will continue to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations of service, product quality and performance.”
