Technical Absorbents Ltd., the U.K.-based manufacturer of Super Absorbent Fibre (SAFTM) and related fabrics and yarns, has launched a new online shop. The company, which prides itself on developing superabsorbent solutions to meet customer requirements, will initially sell sample quantities of its fiber and nonwoven fabric ranges at http://shop.techabsorbents.com but is aiming to expand the site over the coming months. “This is a huge leap for Technical Absorbents,” says commercial director Stuart Coomber. “In the past we have been reliant on traditional sales routes. Having products listed on the internet for people to view/buy will hopefully further the already high level of interest we have in our SAFTM technology. “The initial launch range is now complete and in some instances products are listed as enquire only. The site allows for people to contact us directly through the shop about a specific product or buy a small amount for initial consideration/trials,” he adds. “From a product development perspective, the shop should make it easier for prospective customers to access information, understand the capabilities of our technology and speed up initial material selection.” Technical Absorbents has been manufacturing SAFTM since inception in 1993. and has developed a wide range of converted products– nonwoven fabrics (needlfelt, airlaid, carded), yarns and tapes—using the materials. These products can be supplied directly or via one of its toll converters. Its technology is currently used in a wide range of applications from advanced wound care products to water removal from oils and fuels. The new ecommerce facility was officially launched September 4 and products can be purchased in pounds, dollars and Euros.
