JNC Fibers, an Asian producer of thermal bonded nonwovens, reportedly decreased its output late last year through two major actions. In November, the company reportedly sold one of two Chinese operations to a Beijing Dayuan, a Chinese nonwovens producer, while in October it ceased operations at its facility in Moryama, Japan. The Japanese site, established in 2017, was said to be capable of making 3600 tons of thermal bonded materials per year.

Formerly known as Chisso Corporation, JNC previously operated nonwovens sites in Guangzhou and Changshu, China but it is not clear which of these was divested in the recent deal. Additionally, the company has been making nonwovens at a facility in Rayong, Thailand since 2012. This site has not been affected by the downsize which is reportedly the result of intensified competition in the Japanese and Chinese nonwovens industries as well as waning demand for disposable diapers.
